DEVELOPMENT EDITOR - EDUCATION WEEK TEACHER CTQ COLLABORATORY

(WEEKLY COLUMN, 2014-2015)

For a year and a half, I edited a weekly column written by educators for Education Week Teacher, a national website and e-newsletter reaching more than 200,000 subscribers. My responsibilities included article ideation, author coaching, and editing. Several authors who appeared in this column went on to write for The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, and other publications under my guidance.

DEVELOPMENT EDITOR & COPYEDITOR - STEPS TO CREATING A TEACHER-POWERED SCHOOL
TEACHERPOWERED.ORG (2015)

I oversaw the creation of the world's first digital guide for creating a teacher-led, or teacher-powered, school in the United States. Drafted by education strategist Kim Farris-Berg and Lori Nazareno, an NBCT and founder of the teacher-led Mathematics and Science Leadership Academy in Denver, this manual featured detailed steps, resources, research and policy analysis, and recommendations for teachers and administrators interested in creating their own schools. I edited the manuscript, coached the authors, and helped oversee the conversion of the guide into an easy-to-use website.

DEVELOPMENT EDITOR - ACADEMIC VOCABULARY TOOLKIT (FIRST EDITION)
CENGAGE LEARNING (2011-2013)

I helped develop the first edition of this two-level vocabulary and grammar series for young ESL learners. I served as the lead series editor, conducting edits of the manuscript and page passes, providing author coaching, and editing and managing supplemental materials created by freelancers, including a video series, teacher's guides, and test questions.
